CHAPTER TWO
THE HIDDEN WISDOM OF GOD
There Is a Place the Enemy Cannot Enter.
One of the greatest encouragements for every believer is knowing that regardless of how intense spiritual warfare becomes, there is a realm in God that Satan can never penetrate.
The devil is powerful, but he is not all-knowing.
He is ancient, but he is not eternal.
He is intelligent, but he does not possess the wisdom of God.
Many believers unknowingly magnify the enemy until he appears almost equal with God. Nothing could be further from the truth. Satan is a created being. God is the Creator. Satan learns; God knows. Satan reacts; God ordains. Satan counterfeits; God originates.
This understanding changes how we approach spiritual warfare.
Victory is not found in becoming obsessed with the enemy. Victory is found in becoming deeply acquainted with God.
The safest believer is not necessarily the loudest believer, nor the busiest believer, nor even the most gifted believer. The safest believer is the one who knows God intimately.
Throughout Scripture, we discover a remarkable pattern. Before God entrusted anyone with public influence, He first invited them into private fellowship.
Before Moses confronted Pharaoh, he encountered God at the burning bush.
Before Joshua led Israel into Canaan, he lingered in the Tent of Meeting.
Before David ruled Israel, he learned to worship alone in the wilderness.
Before Paul became an apostle to the Gentiles, he spent years being taught by Christ.
God always reveals Himself before He reveals our assignment.
WISDOM HIDDEN FROM THIS AGE
Paul introduces us to a remarkable truth in his letter to the Corinthians.
He speaks of a wisdom that is not produced by education, culture, politics, or human reasoning.
It is God's wisdom.
A wisdom that existed before creation.
A wisdom that governed redemption before Adam sinned.
A wisdom that planned the Cross before mankind understood the need for a Saviour.
This wisdom is not discovered by intellectual ability.
It is revealed through intimacy.
Paul writes in 1 Corinthians 2:6-8 AMP "[6]Yet we do speak wisdom among those spiritually mature [believers who have teachable hearts and a greater understanding]; [7]but [it is a higher] wisdom not [the wisdom] of this present age nor of the rulers and leaders of this age, who are passing away; but we speak God's wisdom in a mystery, the wisdom once hidden [from man, but now revealed to us by God, that wisdom] which God predestined before the ages to our glory [to lift us into the glory of His presence]. [8]None of the rulers of this age recognized and understood this wisdom; for if they had, they would not have crucified the Lord of glory."
Notice what Paul says.
God's wisdom was never absent.
It was hidden.
Not hidden because God wished to keep His children in darkness, but because He reserves His deepest revelations for those who pursue Him.
There is a significant difference between information and revelation.
Information fills the mind.
Revelation transforms the spirit.
Information may produce knowledge.
Revelation produces life.
Many believers spend years collecting biblical information while remaining spiritually immature because information alone does not produce intimacy.
God is looking for believers with teachable hearts—men and women who are willing to remain before Him until the written Word becomes living revelation.
WHY THE ENEMY COULD NOT UNDERSTAND THE CROSS
Paul makes an astonishing statement:
"None of the rulers of this age recognized and understood this wisdom; for if they had, they would not have crucified the Lord of glory."
Think about that.
The greatest victory in human history looked like the greatest defeat.
The Cross appeared to be Satan's triumph.
Jesus was betrayed.
Rejected.
Beaten.
Mocked.
Crucified.
Buried.
From every human perspective, darkness had won.
Yet hidden within that apparent defeat was the greatest victory heaven had ever planned.
The Cross was never God's emergency response to Satan.
It was God's eternal plan.
While hell celebrated, heaven was accomplishing redemption.
While demons believed they had silenced the Son of God, they unknowingly fulfilled the very purpose for which He came into the world.
This is the wisdom of God.
He accomplishes eternal purposes through circumstances that human wisdom cannot comprehend.
How often have we misunderstood God's dealings because we interpreted them through natural eyes?
Sometimes what appears to be delay is divine preparation.
Sometimes what feels like loss becomes promotion.
Sometimes isolation becomes training.
Sometimes silence becomes revelation.
God's wisdom often contradicts human expectations.
That is why intimacy is indispensable.
Without intimacy, we may misinterpret God's process and abandon the very path He has ordained for our growth.
THE SECRET PLACE IS HEAVEN'S CLASSROOM
Many believers ask God for direction while neglecting the place where direction is given.
God's greatest classroom is not a conference.
It is not a seminary.
It is not even a pulpit.
It is the secret place.
The secret place is where the Holy Spirit patiently forms Christ within us.
It is there that He corrects our thinking.
Purifies our motives.
Exposes our pride.
Strengthens our faith.
Expands our spiritual capacity.
Every hour spent in God's presence is never wasted.
There are lessons that cannot be learned from books alone.
They are learned while waiting.
Listening.
Praying.
Worshipping.
Remaining.
Many believers leave too quickly.
We pray for five minutes and wonder why heaven seems silent.
Yet throughout Scripture, those who carried the greatest revelation were those who learned to remain.
Abraham remained.
Moses remained.
David remained.
Daniel remained.
The apostles remained.
Waiting is not inactivity.
Waiting is spiritual formation.
It is during these hidden seasons that God prepares us for visible assignments.
THE MYSTERY THAT BECOMES OUR STRENGTH
Every generation faces challenges unique to its time.
Our generation is no exception.
The increasing confusion, moral compromise, spiritual deception, and hostility toward truth are evidence that we are living in significant prophetic days.
Yet God has not left His Church without direction.
He has hidden wisdom in Himself.
Not in the systems of this world.
Not in political movements.
Not in human philosophies.
But in His own presence.
The believer who dwells with God will always possess an advantage that cannot be explained naturally.
This does not mean life becomes free from hardship.
It means that while others are overwhelmed by confusion, those who know God walk in clarity.
While others panic, they remain at peace.
While others wander aimlessly, they discern heaven's direction.
This is the inheritance of every believer who chooses intimacy over mere activity.
God is still revealing His mysteries.
He is still speaking.
He is still unveiling His purposes.
The question is not whether God desires to reveal His wisdom.
The question is whether we are willing to remain in His presence long enough to receive it.
