CHAPTER TWELVE
THE MANIFESTATION OF THE SONS OF GOD
When the World Encounters Christ Through His People
"Then I saw a new heaven and a new earth; for the first heaven and the first earth had passed away, and there was no longer any sea. And I saw the holy city, new Jerusalem, coming down out of heaven from God, arrayed like a bride adorned for her husband; and then I heard a loud voice from the throne, saying, 'See! The tabernacle of God is among men, and He will live among them; and they shall be His people, and God Himself will be with them [as their God,] and He will wipe away every tear from their eyes; and there will no longer be death; there will no longer be sorrow and anguish, or crying, or pain; for the former order of things has passed away.' And He who sits on the throne said, 'Behold, I am making all things new.' And He said, 'Write, for these words are faithful and true.'"

THE FATHER'S ETERNAL PURPOSE
As we journey through the Scriptures, one truth becomes unmistakably clear: God's purpose has never changed.
From Genesis to Revelation, He has desired one thing above all else—to dwell with His people.
In the Garden of Eden, God walked with Adam.
In the wilderness, He dwelt among Israel in the Tabernacle.
In Jerusalem, His glory filled the Temple.
In the fullness of time, "the Word became flesh" and dwelt among us in the person of Jesus Christ.
Today, through the Holy Spirit, He dwells within every believer.
One day, according to Revelation, He will dwell with His redeemed people forever.
Everything God has done throughout history has been moving toward this glorious reality.
The story of redemption is the story of God restoring fellowship with mankind.
The secret place is therefore not simply about personal devotion.
It is about participating in God's eternal purpose.
FROM INTIMACY TO MANIFESTATION
Throughout this book we have discovered that the secret place is where God transforms us.
It is where He reveals His heart.
It is where He enlarges our capacity.
It is where He equips us.
It is where we are marinated in His glory.
But God's work does not end there.
He never transforms us simply for our own benefit.
Every encounter with God carries a responsibility.
Every revelation demands expression.
Every work of grace seeks manifestation.
The world cannot see the secret place.
But it can certainly see the life that emerges from it.
This is why the Father calls us into hidden places.
Not so we remain hidden forever.
But so that Christ may be revealed through us.
The Christian life is never intended to terminate upon ourselves.
We become channels through which heaven touches the earth.
WHAT DOES IT MEAN TO MANIFEST?
The word manifest means to make visible what was previously hidden.
Jesus perfectly manifested the Father.
This is why He said “John 14:9 AMP Jesus said to him, “Have I been with you for so long a time, and you do not know Me yet, Philip, nor recognize clearly who I am? Anyone who has seen Me has seen the Father. How can you say, ‘Show us the Father?’
Every miracle...
Every word...
Every act of compassion...
Every display of holiness...
Every expression of truth...
revealed the Father's heart.
Now Christ desires to reveal Himself through His Church.
This is the high calling of every believer.
Not merely to profess Christ.
But to express Christ.
The world desperately needs more than sermons.
It needs to encounter Jesus through transformed lives.
People should see His love in our compassion.
His purity in our conduct.
His wisdom in our decisions.
His peace in our trials.
His joy in our worship.
His humility in our leadership.
His holiness in our character.
The manifestation of the sons of God is ultimately the manifestation of Christ through surrendered people.
SONS CARRY THE FAMILY LIKENESS
One of the beautiful characteristics of every healthy family is resemblance.
Children gradually begin reflecting their parents.
Sometimes it is their appearance.
Sometimes their voice.
Sometimes their mannerisms.
Sometimes their character.
The longer we walk with our heavenly Father, the more we begin to resemble Him.
This is true sonship.
Sonship is far more than a title.
It is the progressive formation of Christ within us.
Many believers desire the authority of sons.
God first develops the character of sons.
Character always precedes authority in the Kingdom.
Before Joseph ruled Egypt, he learned humility in prison.
Before David wore a crown, he learned dependence in the wilderness.
Before the apostles changed the world, they spent years walking with Jesus.
God forms sons before He entrusts them with influence.
THE WORLD IS WAITING
Creation is groaning.
Humanity is searching.
Nations are restless.
People are hungry for answers.
Many may not realise it, but beneath all their searching lies a deeper longing.
They are searching for God.
The tragedy is that many will never open a Bible.
Some will never enter a church.
Others have been wounded by religion.
Yet they will meet believers.
They will watch our lives.
They will observe how we respond under pressure.
How we forgive.
How we serve.
How we love.
Whether our faith remains steadfast in suffering.
Whether our hope survives disappointment.
Whether our joy remains during adversity.
Long before people believe our message,
they observe our lives.
The manifestation of God's sons is therefore not merely supernatural ministry.
It is supernatural character.
It is Christ becoming visible in ordinary people.
THE SECRET PLACE PRODUCES VISIBLE GLORY
Moses entered the mountain alone.
Yet when he descended, everyone knew he had been with God.
He did not announce it.
He carried it.
The same principle remains today.
Those who genuinely dwell with God carry something that cannot be manufactured.
Their words possess unusual grace.
Their decisions reflect unusual wisdom.
Their love reaches unusual depths.
Their peace remains steady under unusual pressure.
The world may not understand what they carry.
But it recognises that something is different.
This is the fruit of abiding.
Not performance.
Presence.
The secret place leaves fingerprints upon the soul.
HEAVEN'S LIGHT IN EARTH'S DARKNESS
We have spoken throughout this book about the increasing darkness of our generation.
Yet darkness has never frightened God.
Darkness simply provides the backdrop against which light becomes visible.
The darker the night,
the brighter the stars appear.
Likewise, every act of love...
Every expression of truth...
Every demonstration of holiness...
Every display of forgiveness...
Every life surrendered to Christ...
becomes a testimony that the Kingdom of God is present.
The Church does not overcome darkness by becoming preoccupied with darkness.
She overcomes darkness by carrying the light of Christ.
This has always been God's strategy.
He sends light.
He sends truth.
He sends transformed people.
He sends sons and daughters who carry His glory.
THE BLESSED HOPE OF EVERY BELIEVER
The manifestation of the sons of God is not confined to this present age.
There is coming a glorious day when God's redemptive work will reach its perfect fulfilment.
The Apostle John was given a vision of that day.
He writes:
"Then I saw a new heaven and a new earth; for the first heaven and the first earth had passed away, and there was no longer any sea. And I saw the holy city, new Jerusalem, coming down out of heaven from God, arrayed like a bride adorned for her husband; and then I heard a loud voice from the throne, saying, 'See! The tabernacle of God is among men, and He will live among them; and they shall be His people, and God Himself will be with them [as their God,] and He will wipe away every tear from their eyes; and there will no longer be death; there will no longer be sorrow and anguish, or crying, or pain; for the former order of things has passed away.' And He who sits on the throne said, 'Behold, I am making all things new.' And He said, 'Write, for these words are faithful and true.'"
What a glorious promise.
This is where history is heading.
This is the fulfilment of every promise.
This is the completion of every work of redemption.
This is the Father's eternal desire—to dwell with His people forever.
The secret place we now experience by faith will one day become our eternal reality.
Prayer will give way to perfect communion.
Faith will become sight.
Hope will become fulfilment.
The sons and daughters of God will stand before their Father, perfectly conformed to the image of Christ.
This is our blessed hope.
BECOMING THE ANSWER
The world often asks,
"Where is God?"
Perhaps the better question is,
"Where are His sons?"
Where are those who have spent enough time in His presence that His compassion flows naturally through them?
Where are those whose lives preach louder than their words?
Where are those who refuse compromise because they have seen the beauty of holiness?
Where are those who love without conditions?
Forgive without resentment?
Serve without recognition?
Pray without ceasing?
Trust without wavering?
The Father is still raising such people.
Ordinary people.
Completely surrendered people.
People who have learned that greatness is found at His feet.
People who have discovered that the highest privilege in life is to reveal Jesus.
May we become those people.
