Prayer Is Alignment

"John 10:27 AMP The sheep that are My own hear My voice and listen to Me; I know them, and they follow Me." One of the greatest misunderstandings in the Church today is reducing prayer to merely presenting requests before God. Many believers see prayer as a spiritual emergency service. We pray when we need help. We pray when life becomes difficult. We pray when answers seem beyond our reach. Yet once the crisis passes, our prayer lives often diminish. God never intended prayer to be occasional communication.
Prayer is the believer's atmosphere. It is the lifeline of intimacy. It is the continual communion through which heaven shapes earth. Prayer is not simply asking. Prayer is alignment. When we pray, we are not attempting to persuade God to think like us. We are allowing the Holy Spirit to transform our hearts until we begin to think like God. True prayer changes the one praying before it changes the circumstances being prayed about.
Many of us enter God's presence wanting Him to alter our situation, only to discover that He first desires to transform us. The secret place is where our wills are surrendered, our perspectives are corrected, and our hearts are brought into harmony with His eternal purposes. Prayer is not about informing God. It is about being formed by God.

1. Where is the Holy Spirit inviting you to let prayer align your heart with God's will?
2. What competing voice, habit, fear, or desire needs to become quieter so that this truth can shape you?
PRAY
Father, let prayer bring my heart into alignment with Yours. Bend my will, thoughts, desires, and priorities until I desire what You desire and love what You love. Before changing my circumstances, change me; make prayer a place of communion, surrender, and transformation where Your purposes become my willing obedience. In Jesus' name, Amen.
PRACTICE
Set aside 10-15 unhurried minutes today. Ask God to help you let prayer align your heart with God's will. Write down one truth to carry and one concrete act of obedience.
