Heaven Already Knows Your Assignment

In my original message, I described this as THE EQUIPPING. The more I meditate on this truth, the more convinced I become that many believers misunderstand the purpose of God's presence. Some seek His presence merely to feel peace. Others seek Him only for answers to life's problems. Still others come because they desire His blessings. While God certainly gives peace, answers, and blessings, these are not the primary purpose of the secret place. The secret place is God's training ground.
It is there that He equips His people for the assignments He prepared before the foundation of the world. The mountain is not an escape from responsibility. It is preparation for responsibility. Every encounter with God should leave us more like Christ and more prepared to fulfill His will. If our time in His presence only comforts us but never changes us, then we have misunderstood why He called us there. One of the most encouraging truths in Scripture is that God never improvises. Nothing catches Him by surprise.
Nothing takes Him unaware. Daniel declares: "It is He who changes the times and the seasons..." History does not unfold by accident. Nations rise and fall under His sovereign authority. Kings come and go according to His purposes. Empires flourish for a season and disappear. Yet throughout every generation, God's eternal plan continues without interruption. The same is true of your life. Your calling did not begin on the day you discovered it. It began in the heart of God long before you were born. Long before you drew your first breath...
Long before your parents knew your name... Long before your circumstances appeared to define you... God already knew why He created you. Nothing about your life is accidental. The enemy may attempt to delay your destiny. People may misunderstand your calling. Circumstances may appear contrary. But none of these can cancel what God has ordained. The responsibility of the believer is not to invent purpose. It is to discover the purpose already established in heaven. That discovery happens on the mountain. Daniel continues:
"It is He who reveals the profound and hidden things; He knows what is in the darkness, And the light dwells with Him." This verse has become increasingly precious to me. Notice that Daniel does not say God occasionally discovers hidden things. He says God reveals them. There is a significant difference. Nothing is hidden from God. Only from us. What appears mysterious to us is perfectly clear to Him. The future that produces anxiety in us has already been seen by Him.
The decisions that confuse us are already understood by Him. The battles that intimidate us never threaten Him. God is never searching for information. He possesses complete knowledge. Therefore, the purpose of prayer is not to inform God. Prayer positions us to receive what He already knows. Every time we enter the secret place, we are coming before the One who already knows tomorrow better than we know today. How foolish it would be to live independently of such wisdom.

1. Where is the Holy Spirit inviting you to trust that God already knows your purpose and can reveal what is hidden?
2. What is one response you can make today rather than postponing?
PRAY
Father, thank You that my purpose is already known to You. Deliver me from anxiety about inventing my calling or forcing my own way, and teach me to seek the assignment established in Your heart. Reveal what I need to know, order my steps, and help me trust Your timing as You unfold Your purpose. In Jesus' name, Amen.
PRACTICE
Set aside 10-15 unhurried minutes today. Ask God to help you trust that God already knows your purpose and can reveal what is hidden. Write down one truth to carry and one concrete act of obedience.
